The Boozy Backpacker is a blog that started from a classic conflict. I was ready for my next trip, but had no idea where to go. Should I do a tour of national parks and hike the best trails my state has to offer? Or opt for a trip with more nightlife, and taste some unique drinks from bars and breweries all over the country? I was at a standstill until it clicked, like the moment in a certain commercial where the little girl asks why they can't have soft shell and hard shell tacos...
Why not have both?
So began The Boozy Backpacker, where I bring you the coolest trails in your backyard, and the best place to unwind with a drink after. It's a blog for people who know hiking is a hobby for anyone, even if you aren't in the best shape or outfitted with a week's worth of survival gear. It's a blog for people who believe you can learn a lot about a city's locals through the way they drink. It's a blog for people who have one foot in the city, and one foot in nature.
From the top of Yosemite's Half Dome, to America's oldest bar in New Orleans, I've seen some of the best sites this country has to offer. When I'm not hiking or drinking I can be found at home, hanging out with my amazing cat, Belle and crazy dog, Dahlia. Both are rescues and magical mystery mutts. I also enjoy baking alcohol-infused desserts, and hosting game nights with friends.
